On June 28th, the Philadelphia 76ers held an NBA Voices Pride Panel with thirty LGBT Camden-area youth from the Lucy Outreach, which serves members of the LGBT community and allies.  The event was held to mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.  The panel was lead by veteran NBA player Jason Collins and 76ers Executive Director of Social Responsibility Amy Hever.  After the panel, Collins led a basketball clinic for the youth before the 76ers gave him a No. 98 76ers jersey, which Jason wore in memory of Matthew
Shepard.

Collins played thirteen seasons in the NBA, and in February of 2014 became the first openly gay athlete to play in any of the four North American professional sports leagues.

Heyer has been with the Sixers organization since 2015, when she was originally brought on to be the Executive Director of Community Relations. Now as the Executive Director of Social Responsibility, Heyer is also the Executive Director of the Sixers Youth Foundation.
