Philadelphia Union announces partnership with Parx Casino

While it’s true that we head out to Talen Energy Stadium to watch the Philadelphia Union play stellar matches of soccer, there are other forms of entertainment available in Philadelphia. The team is showing some Philly love by entering a new partnership with Parx Casino® to showcase their online sports betting platform. Parx Casino® became the second online betting platform in Pennsylvania earlier this summer, though they have been taking bets in their South Philadelphia and Oaks locations since January.

As a part of the agreement, Parx Casino® will be the Presenting Partner of the halftime show on all local broadcasts of Union games and will be energizing the Toyota Plaza at Talen Energy Stadium on game days. This means their street team will be around telling people about their new app and showing them how to download the app for free. Fans who download the app will be automatically entered to win prizes including a grand prize of an all-inclusive trip for four to the Union’s away game against New York Red Bulls.

While I have not been a betting person in the past, something tells me that in the naturally spirited energy of the stadium, I might very well be inclined to give it a shot. Especially if I’m betting on the Union playing hard at home in Philly.

“Parx Casino® is the premiere destination for gaming and sports gambling, not only for the Philadelphia-area, but for the state of Pennsylvania as a whole,” said Jean-Paul Dardenne, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at the Philadelphia Union. “We are confident that our fan-base will enjoy the added fun, perks and prizes of the Parx presence on game days.”

“We’re excited to partner with the Philadelphia Union and the fastest growing professional sport in the US,” said Marc Oppenheimer, Chief marketing Officer at Parx Casino®. “MLS looks to be a great partner for the emerging legalized sports betting business. We look forward to working with the Union to maximize the value for their franchise and Parx.”
