It’s game day! The Philadelphia 76ers will go up against the Indiana Pacers tonight at 7:00 pm EST at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. This game will be televised on NBC Sports Philadelphia and broadcasted on Philadelphia radio station 97.5 The Fanatic. As for tonight’s uniforms, Philadelphia will wear their white “association” jersey and Indiana will rock their blue “icon” jersey. Most importantly, this is the first meeting between these two teams this season.

Pacers Outlook

The Indiana Pacers have a 5-8 record on the season and are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. On the other hand, they’re coming off a physical win over the Utah Jazz 111-100, however, there’s more to the story.

In the 4th quarter, an altercation between Utah center Rudy Gobert and Pacers big man Myles Turner took place. To make matters worse, Jazz teammates Donovan Mitchell and Joe Ingles got involved leading to all parties involved to be ejected from the game. Unfortunately, in the aftermath, it was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that Rudy Gobert was fined $35,000, Joe Ingles was fined $30,000, Myles Turner was fined $25,000, and Donovan Mitchell was fined $20,000.

As for tonight, Philadelphia may or may not see wing Caris Levert as he’s listed as questionable with back soreness. However, point guard Malcolm Brogdon is sure to give the 76ers problems. Moreover, he’s leading Indiana with 23.6 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 6.4 APG. Though he’s struggled to stay healthy this year, Brogdon is putting up career numbers. Furthermore, the Pacers are a physical team so Philadelphia needs to match their energy. Statistically, Indiana is 6th in the league in 2nd chance points and 7th in points in the paint.

Pacers 12:30 pm EST Injury Report:

  • Isaiah Jackson (Out- left knee hyperextension)
  • Caris Levert (Questionable- back soreness)
  • T.J. Warren (Out left navicular fracture)

76ers Outlook

The Philadelphia 76ers are 8-5 on the season and in 5th place in the Eastern Conference. Besides, they are on a three-game losing streak and on part one of a six-game road trip. Most recently, Philadelphia was defeated by the Toronto Raptors 115-109.

Fortunately, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that guard Isaiah Joe cleared the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols. Additionally, Joe will go through his pre-game workout to determine his availability. Slowly but surely, the 76ers are returning to form after struggling with COVID-19. Forward Tobias Harris made his return in their loss against Toronto. In that game, he recorded 19 PTS, 7 REB, and 7 AST.

Tyrese Maxey continues to carry the offensive load for the 76ers. Heading into tonight, the 2nd-year guard is coming off consecutive 30 point performances. Surprisingly, he’s the youngest player in franchise history to do this, even before the great Allen Iverson.
