Week 2 is just what the gambling doctor ordered as we righted week one’s loss in perfect fashion. A 4-0 week saw us gain 8.19 units pushing our two week total to a positive 5.01 units. Our 3-star Bet on the Colts -3 was never really in doubt as their defense just had their way with Minnesota. The Falcons were luckily getting 4.5 points so even their ineptitude at the end of that game didn’t cost us, while the Ravens took care of business vs the Texans.

Teasers can sometimes look really good on paper and don’t translate on Sundays, but we squeaked through with the Bills surviving the Jets and the Chiefs pulling out the OT win over a hungry Chargers team. Thank you Harrison Butker and onto week 3.

3-Star NFL Bet

Ravens -3 (Buy the half point or wait closer to kick when public will take Chiefs)

The Ravens have looked like the best team in the NFL through two weeks, and it’s not particularly close. They’re clicking on all cylinders and go into a prime time Monday night game vs the defending Super Bowl champions. I think this game means a whole lot more to Baltimore than it does to the Chiefs which should lead to less mistakes. Only 37% of tickets are on the Ravens but this line has moved from 2.5 to 3.5, indicating a lot of sharp money on the Ravens. In a game that should be close, give me the home team that is looking to prove something. Bet on the Ravens to win and cover the 3 point spread.

2-Star NFL Bet

Browns -7

The Football Teamers are getting a lot more credit than they deserve for beating the hapless Eagles week one. This is still not a great football team with an offense that struggles to move the ball. Cleveland might not have a great defense, but they should perform well vs Washington. On offense, the RB-Duo of Chubb and Hunt is formidable and will test the Washington line early and often. The Sharps are on this game as the line has moved from 5.5 to the key number of 7 fairly quickly. I feel this game start off close but once the game wears on the Browns can mix in Chubb and Hunt vs a tired defense, they’ll pull away. Bet on the Browns to trample the team from Washington.

Bears +3

This is more a bet against the Falcons than on the Bears. I have never seen a team more inept at the end of a game than this Falcons squad. It’s bad coaching, bad execution and just bad football. Before that game vs the Cowboys, NFL teams that scored at least 39 points and had 0 turnovers were 440 and 0. Let that sink in, 440 instances and ZERO times did that team lose. Well, leave it to Atlanta to buck that trend and lose 40-39 in a game they controlled for 55 of 60 minutes. Chicago has quietly played good football and is 2-0. Yes they’ve beat the Lions and Giants, but they still have scored some points and Trubisky doesn’t look helpless. I think it will take at least a week for the Falcons to get past that brutal loss to the Cowboys and the Bears will be the team to capitalize on that. Bet Chicago to cover the 3 point spread.

Seahawks -5

The Cowboys were lucky to win that game last week, and if they hadn’t, I think this spread would be at least a touchdown. Yes the Seahawks “only” beat the Patriots by 5 and needed a stop at the goal line to preserve the win; but the Patriots also scored on a pick-6 to start the game that went through a receiver’s hands. Russell Wilson is the best QB in football through two weeks (sorry Mahomes) and the new look defense will have one more week of film to watch together. Sharp money on the Seahawks came in early to move this game from 3.5 to 5 and I wouldn’t be shocked if they continue to bet this up to around 6 before the line falls from public love of the Cowboys. Bet the Seahawks to win by a touchdown over the Cowboys.
