The Philadelphia Eagles slot wide receiver, who is on the final season of his rookie contract, is currently taking some major steps towards earning a big next contract. Whether that is with the Philadelphia Eagles is still to be determined.
Nelson Agholor spent this past Monday in his hometown of Tampa Bay, Florida with Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Randy Moss. This is nothing but a smart move for the young slot wide receiver. Regardless of the difference in skillset and position on the football field these two have, Nelson taking any pointers from Randy Moss is “Gold.” There were several other NFL players in attendance, including Alex McGough of the Jaguars and Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
Here is some footage of the workout, as tweeted out by John Clark of NBC Sports.
Nelson Agholor is coming off a 736 yard season while hauling in 4 touchdowns to go along with that. That was considered a “down” year after his previous season was much more successful. Nelson had 768 yards and 8 touchdowns in the 2017 season. He was a big part of that Super Bowl winning team.
Only time will tell if the Philadelphia Eagles decide to re-sign him. Many other factors will determine this as well. Regardless of how much Nelson works to improve, this Eagles roster has so much talent in the receiving corps. Nelson’s stats may suffer from this dramatically. But, if he proves he has an important spot on this team, Howie Roseman may just be willing to pay Nelson next offseason.
