12:30 Game Time…

Flight left out of DCA to Chicago at 6:35am and arrived in Chicago at 7:40am. As soon as I landed, I received a text message stating your Southwest flight 2405 from MDW now departs at 11:45am getting you to Las Vegas at 2:15pm.

Again, game time for the Delaware Blue Coats and Stockton Kings is 12:30pm.

I then rush over to the Southwest and plead my case in a nice way. The airline rep nicely looks up other flights for me. She then states we can get you up to Denver on a 11:00am flight and then you can catch a connecting flight at 11:10am that will get you into Vegas at 12:10am. The only issue is that your luggage will have to arrive on the delayed flight that will get there at 2:15pm. Oh well, let’s do it…

Those of us who have been to Vegas know this airport is almost worse than flying into Atlanta.

I arrive at the game at 12:25pm with 5 minutes to spare. YES, I covered every time zone in one day…. LIFE IS GOOD!

Now to the game….

The Mandalay Bay Convention Center is packed with representatives from every NBA team.

76ers GM Elton Brand, along with the Associate VP Ned Cohen and Delaware’s GM Matt Lilly, were all in the building.

The Blue Coats started out on FIRE! At the end of the first quarter, the score was 35 to 22 Blue Coats. Shake and Bolden finished the first quarter with 9 points and 3 rebounds a piece.

The Stockton Kings started the second quarter on a mission. They went up 49 to 47 with 4:43 left in the quarter. The Blue Coats fought back and went up 61 to 55 with 2:11 left in the second quarter with Shake leading the way with 15 points. Blue Coats took at 67-60 lead into halftime. Shake finished with a cool 19 and Bolden a cool 12.

The battle was on in the second half. Stockton went into a match-up zone that caused trouble for the Blue Coats. Before you knew it, Stockton took the lead.

Stockton’s Isaiah Canaan caught fire, and by 6:19 in the 4th quarter, he had 25 points and 5 assists. With 8.6 seconds left in the game, he was up to 31 points and Stockton held a 115 to 112 lead.

Doral Moore got fouled late in regulation. He went to the line and sank 2 free throws to take us into overtime.

It was the Stockton show in overtime. Isaiah Canaan finished with 39 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists.

On the Blue Coats side, Shake finished with a team high 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Shayok and Bolden finished with 22 a piece.

Next Game is Saturday 3:30pm against the Maine Red Claws.

The Blue Coats are going to have rebound in a big way to win this game.
