At The Painted Lines, we usually talk about stuff like sports and television. Sometimes, however, there is stuff bigger than that. Today, we are going to introduce you to Juwan Adams. Juwan is 17 years old and is fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He is in need of a stem cell transplant through a Bone Marrow registry.
Juwan is defined by so much more than just his fight with cancer. Juwan is an outstanding student with a 4.25 GPA and is a part of his drum line at his high school, Abington Senior High School. He is a really bright kid and wants to graduate from the University of Penn with a degree in Business or Engineering. Juwan is someone that always put others before himself. He is truly a great person that needs this match very desperately.

We reached out to several people, and they wanted to let Juwan he was not alone in his fight against cancer. Matisse Thybulle and the 76ers, alongside the New York Knicks, were very touched by his story and sent Juwan some gear to help lift his spirits along with some autographs to display.
There are very few minority donors on the National Registry, and it’s been quite challenging for Juwan to find a match. So, we urge those to join the Be the Match registry. It’s simple to join. A kit is mailed to your home with instructions to swab your cheeks and return the envelope. To help, text savejuwan (all one word) to 61474 to start the process. To register for Be the Match, you have to be between the ages of 18-44.
