After a successful trial in the All-Star Game, should the NBA adopt the Elam Ending in more meaningful games?

After winning the Mountain East Conference tournament championship at Wheeling Jesuit University and taking his team to two consecutive NCAA DII tournament appearances with his former All-American, now Delaware Blue Coats SF Haywood Highsmith, head coach Danny Sancomb found himself without a job. Sancomb had taken the university from 13-15 in his first season to multiple 25+ win seasons. This experience in helping build a program would come in handy. It didn’t take long before he was named the HC of the California University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team.

He was hired to rebuild a program that has struggled over the last few years. Coach Sancomb was able to convince his hard nosed freshman PG Brent Pegram and assistant coach Steve Bridgeman to come along for the ride. Even so, Coach Sancomb’s first season was rough. Year two, however, is proving to be what the university expected when they named him head coach last season. His young team is currently 5-2 and has won 5 in a row. He has carried his winning ways from Wheeling, WV to Cal PA. The Vulcans look to be a contender for the PSAC Conference title.
