Recap

Arizona Cardinals @ DALLAS COWBOYS

A Cowboys rally ultimately fell short after they were unable to challenge a potential fumble due to being out of timeouts in a 25-22 loss. Dallas trailed by as much as 22-7 late into the third quarter but then scored 15 in the fourth to cut into the Arizona lead. A costly fumble by Dak Prescott led to the deciding field goal for the Cardinals.

Prescott ultimately finished with 226 yards on 24/38 passing with 3 TDs, but the Cowboys offense as a whole struggled to get much going until the fourth quarter. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combined for 15 yards on 12 carries on the ground. Conversely, the Arizona offense totaled 127 rushing yards on 32 carries.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES @ WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

The Eagles checked off the first item on the list of things they needed to clinch a Wild Card spot with a 20-16 win over Washington. The win also gave the Eagles the season sweep of Washington. Wins by the 49ers and Packers later in the day gave Philadelphia their playoff berth.

Jalen Hurts’ numbers weren’t spectacular (17/26, 214 yards) but he played a strong game on a day the Eagles had trouble getting their run game going until late. Once they did, they totaled 118 yards on 34 carries including two touchdowns from Boston Scott. A Rodney McLeod game-sealing interception capped off a tremendous second half effort from the Philadelphia defense.

NEW YORK GIANTS @ Chicago Bears

The Giants offense had a day to remember for the wrong reasons, as they totaled just 151 yards and had -10 net passing yards. Mike Glennon started at QB and went 4/11 for 24 yards with 2 interceptions and was sacked four times. Evan Engram and David Sills V each had one catch for 12 yards for the only positive passing receptions.

New York had four total turnovers, all from Glennon. Chicago scored 14 points off of those turnovers and forced a safety. The Giants’ defense was able to collect two interceptions of their own, but their offense failed to do anything with them and even threw another interception right back on the second occasion.
