Recap

DALLAS COWBOYS @ New England Patriots

The Cowboys came out of New England with a 35-29 overtime victory thanks to a 35-yard TD pass from Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb. The two teams combined for 27 points and three lead changes before ending regulation tied at 29-29. Prescott finished with 445 yards with 3 TDs and an interception while Lamb had a monster day with 9 catches for 149 yards and two scores.

One of the lead changes in the fourth was on a pick-six from Trevon Diggs. It was the corner’s second pick-six of the season and already his seventh overall. It came after Dallas missed a go-ahead field goal with 2:42 left in regulation. Diggs and the Dallas defense held Patriots QB Mac Jones to 229 yards with two scores and Diggs’ pick, but one of the scores was a 75-yard touchdown the next drive after the pick-six.

Cowboys Week 7 Opponent- Bye

Kansas City Chiefs @ WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Washington took a 13-10 lead into the half but surrendered 21-unanswered points in the second half to lose by a final score of 31-13. Taylor Heinicke and the Washington offense struggled to get anything going, totaling just 276 yards of total offense on 12 drives. Heinicke finished 24/39 for 182 yards with a TD and a pick while J.D. McKissic and Antonio Gibson combined for 89 yards on 18 carries.

The Washington defense picked Patrick Mahomes off twice in the first half and forced a fumble late in the half. But their offense failed to take advantage and scored just 7 points off of the three turnovers. Mahomes exploded in the second half and finished with 397 yards and three TDs to go along with the two interceptions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Eagles lost to the Bucs 28-22 in a Thursday night game that wasn’t as close as the score made it seem. Philadelphia struggled mightily to get any offense going and Jalen Hurts struggled throwing the ball. Hurts finished 12/26 for 115 yards with a TD and an interception. The offense as a whole put up just 213 overall yards and was 3-10 on third down.

Philadelphia’s defense put up a valiant effort after getting torched on the Bucs first two drives. They allowed 21 points in the first half but held Tampa to just 7 after halftime. However, they were on the field for close to 40 minutes of game due to the failure of their offense to sustain drives. Tom Brady finished with 297 yards and two touchdowns with a pick while Antonio Brown caught 9 passes for 93 yards and a score including the dagger to ice the game.

Eagles Week 7 Opponent- @Raiders, Sunday at 4:05

Los Angeles Rams @ NEW YORK GIANTS

The Giants were decimated by the Rams to the tune of a 38-11 blowout loss at home. All 38 Rams points were unanswered until a little over six minutes left when the Giants finally found the end zone. Daniel Jones threw three interceptions and had just 242 yards on 29/51 passing. Jones was also sacked four times and fumbled twice, losing one. The Giants offense as a whole averaged just 3.6 yards per play on 73 total plays.

Defensively, New York was carved up by Matthew Stafford for 4 TDs through the air on 22/28 passing. Cooper Kupp did most of the damage by hauling in nine passes for 130 receiving yards and two scores. The Giants did force two turnovers, an interception of Stafford and his backup John Wolford who entered the game in the fourth quarter.
