Recap

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES @ San Francisco 49ers

The Eagles get their first win and are suddenly in first place in the division. Carson Wentz had a bit of a bounce back game despite still showing erratic accuracy. Wentz finished 18-28 for 193 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also ran for 37 yards and another score. Wentz threw a 42 yard touchdown to recent practice squad call up Travis Fulgham to give the Eagles the lead with four minutes left. It was his longest TD pass since Week 1 of last year.

The Eagles defense was able to help out while Wentz was getting into rhythm, forcing three turnovers and getting Niners QB Nick Mullens benched in the fourth quarter. Linebacker Alex Singleton ran back an interception for a touchdown to push the Eagles lead to two scores late. A late rally by third string quarterback C.J. Beathard wasn’t enough, and the Eagles held on 25-20.

Cleveland Brown @ DALLAS COWBOYS

Dak Prescott continued his terrific start to the season, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for 450 yards or more in three straight games. He finished with 502 yards and 4 TD’s with an interception. Amari Cooper finished with 12 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.

However, it was all for naught, as the Dallas defense couldn’t stop the Browns offense at all. Cleveland ran for a staggering 385 total yards on the ground, including Odell Beckham Jr.’s game sealing 50 yard touchdown run. Beckham totaled three touchdowns on the day, including a 37 yard touchdown thrown by fellow receiver Jarvis Landry. Dallas has now given up at least 38 points in three straight weeks.

Baltimore Ravens @ WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

The Football Team wasn’t able to slow down Lamar Jackson and the Ravens rushing attack, surrendering 144 yards on the ground including Jackson’s 50 yard touchdown run. Last year’s MVP also threw for two touchdowns, both to tight end Mark Andrews, in the 31-17 contest.

Washington’s offense was only able to muster the 17 points despite Dwayne Haskins throwing for 314 yards on 32-45 passing and Terry McLaurin hauling in ten catches for 118 yards. The Football team offense was also only able to rack up 69 rushing yards, with Antonio Gibson leading the way with 46 on 19 carries.

NEW YORK GIANTS @ Los Angeles Rams

The Giant offense was again not able to get much going on the scoreboard, mustering just three field goals in a 17-9 loss. They have now scored less than ten points in consecutive games. However, they were able to get something of a run game going, finishing with 136 total rushing yards.

Daniel Jones struggled again to not turn the ball over, throwing his fifth interception of the season. Jones now has 30 turnovers in just 17 games played after debuting in 2019. He finished with 23-36 for 190 yards and the interception.
