Recap

NEW YORK GIANTS @ Cincinnati Bengals

Jabal Sheard strip sacked Bengals QB Brandon Allen with under a minute left in the game to seal a 19-17 win. It was the first three game win streak for the Giants since 2016, and it propelled them to first place in the NFC East.

The win however overshadowed the fact that Giants QB Daniel Jones left the game with a hamstring injury. Colt McCoy came on in relief and completed 6 of 10 passes. Wayne Gallman led the way on the ground for New York, racking up 94 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Evan Engram had a big day receiving, finishing with 6 catches on 9 targets for a career high 129 yards.

The Giants defense was able to completely stifle the Bengals offense that was playing its first full game without Joe Burrow. New York forced three turnovers and held the Bengals to just 155 total yards of offense. That was the lowest total yardage for the Bengals since 2017.

WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM @ DALLAS COWBOYS

Washington embarrassed the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, running all over Dallas to secure a 41-16 win. The Football Team totaled 182 yards on the ground as opposed to just 60 for Dallas.

Antonio Gibson became the first rookie since 1948 with three rushing touchdowns on Thanksgiving. Gibson finished with 115 yards on 20 carries and three scores. Terry McLaurin notched 92 yards on 7 receptions through the air. The Washington defense meanwhile was able to force two turnovers and collect three sacks.

Dallas could not stop the run and couldn’t get any offense of their own going. Ezekiel Elliott finished with just 32 yards on 10 carries and lost a fumble. Andy Dalton finished with 215 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception. Head coach Mike McCarthy had some curious decisions, including running a fake punt from his own 20 yard line on 4th and 10. The failed fake directly led to a Washington touchdown.

Seattle Seahawks @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Eagles continued their downward spiral, losing 23-17 at home to Seattle in a game that wasn’t as close as the score seems. Philadelphia and Carson Wentz once again failed to get any offense going, this time against the worst passing defense in the NFL.

Wentz was once again a mess. He missed easy reads and underthrew wide open receivers. On some occasions where he was on target, the ball fell to the turf as a drop. The Eagles quarterback finished 25 of 45 for 215 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception. The pick was an ugly one in the red zone in which Wentz threw it directly to a defender after a miscommunication with Dallas Goedert. Wentz now leads the league in interceptions and sacks and is a close second in fumbles.

The Eagles defense as a whole played relatively well despite the loss, holding Russell Wilson to just 231 yards on 22 completions. Seattle was also only able to gain 76 yards rushing. However, DK Metcalf went off against Darius Slay, torching the Eagles corner for 177 yards on 10 catches, a new career high for Metcalf.
