Recap

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES @ NEW YORK GIANTS

The Giants were finally able to claim a win after three weeks of staying competitive. They were able to beat the Eagles for the first time since 2016 by a final score of 27-17.

Daniel Jones and the Giants offense played a clean game with no turnovers. Their running game was the real force, totaling 151 yards. Jones himself rushed 9 times for 64 yards and a score. Darius Slayton had a good day receiving, finishing with 93 yards on five catches including a game sealing over the shoulder grab.

The Eagles on the other hand were totally inept in all three phases of the game. Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense also did not turn it over, but they did have multiple dropped snaps and penalties. They also failed to convert a single third down, finishing 0-9. Meanwhile their defense dug them into a 14-3 hole after three Giants drives and their special teams failed to field two easy punts resulting in poor field position.

Eagles Week 11 Opponent- @Browns, Sunday at 1:00

WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM @ Detroit Lions

This one was a roller coaster. The Lions jumped out to a 24-3 lead by early in the third quarter. Then Washington rallied with two 80 plus yard scoring drives followed by a 62 yard drive to tie the score at 24-24 early in the fourth. The two teams then traded field goals to knot it up at 27-27. Finally, Matt Prater kicked a 59 yard field goal as time expired to give the Lions a 30-27 win.

Alex Smith had a good day in his first start in over two years. Smith finished 38-55 for 390 yards. Terry McLaurin impressed again, hauling in 7 catches for 95 yards. He now has over 80 receiving yards in six games this season. However, McLaurin did have a fumble that led to a Detroit field goal.

Washington’s defense struggled to contain Matthew Stafford and the Lions passing attack. Stafford threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns on the day. Marvin Jones caught 8 passes from Stafford for 96 yards and a score.
