The Eagles head into the 2021-22 regular season with three potential picks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. While major question marks maintain regarding Jalen Hurts’ future in Philadelphia, it’s never too soon to look ahead and do a quick deep dive into some of the biggest names that might find themselves in midnight green next season. The 2021 college football season is just around the corner. Therefore, let’s take a look at some of the top (non-quarterback) names in the class that all Eagles fans should know.

NOTE*** this is not a ranking

Kayvon Thibodeaux

  • EDGE rusher from Oregon
  • Height: 6’5″
  • Weight: 250 pounds

What You Need To Know

Thibodeaux is the complete package with plus length, athleticism and motor coming off the edge. His combination of speed and size make him one of the top defenders in the 2022 draft. Thibodeaux has dominated every step of the way in college, including 23.5 tackles for loss in 21 games at Oregon. He’s one of the quickest off the snap rushers in the class alongside an excellent first step. Thibodeaux’s elite pass rush and ability to thrive against the run puts him among the top of the draft boards in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Derek Stingley Jr.

  • CB from LSU
  • Height: 6’1″
  • Weight: 195 pounds

What You Need To Know

Derek Stingley Jr. has a terrific combination of instincts, length and fluidity. His recovery speed and ability to change directions simply scream off of watching tape. Stingley has the awareness and ball skills to truly become an elite, shut down corner in the NFL. This is arguably the best press-man corner with pure coverage ability in the draft. If Stingley continues to dominate in 2021 as expected, there is a strong chance he’s looking at being a top 10 pick in the 2022 draft.

Kyle Hamilton

  • Safety from Notre Dame
  • Height: 6’4″
  • Weight: 219 pounds

What You Need To Know

In a world where position-less defenders are becoming more and more common in the NFL, Kyle Hamilton is a name that everyone should know heading into the 2021 season. Safety, linebacker, outside and slot corner, here is a guy who is as versatile as it gets. Today’s NFL is all about exposing mismatches and Kyle Hamilton is nearly mismatch proof for opposing offensive playcallers. He can line up in the box, he go can toe to toe with tight ends and he can rush the passer with the best of them.

Kingsley “JJ” Enagbare

  • EDGE rusher from South Carolina
  • Height: 6’4″
  • Weight: 260 pounds

What You Need To Know

Incredibly quick with immense power, Kingsley Enagbare has the size, athleticism and versatility to play in multiple schemes at the next level. This is one of the most natural pass rushers in the college game. Enagbare plays with a nastiness coming off the edge. Unlike the 2021 class which significantly lacked pass rushers, Kingsley Enagbare is yet another elite EDGE prospect to keep an eye on this season. A strong 2021 season could potentially cement his name within the top 20 of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Sevyn Banks

  • CB from Ohio State
  • Height: 6’1″
  • Weight: 200 pounds

What You Need To Know

Despite having tremendous size and athleticism, there is a fluidity about his game that is instantly noticeable on tape. Banks can thrive in both man and press coverages and shows enough versatility to lock down receivers on the outside or in the slot. He’s got the instincts, physicality and motor to develop into a CB1 at the next level. Look for Sevyn Banks to cement himself as a top 20 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Tyler Linderbaum

  • iOL from Iowa
  • Height: 6’3″
  • Weight: 289 pounds

What You Need To Know

If the Eagles have a pick in the late first or early second round, then think no other than Tyler Linderbaum. Here is one of the most athletic offensive lineman in the entire 2022 draft class. He plays with tremendous speed and don’t let that small size fool you. Linderbaum has very good strength, quick feet and thrives once he gets into the second level. The Eagles love versatile offensive linemen who can play across multiple positions when called upon. Linderbaum has a very good chance to hear his name called in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Kaiir Elam

  • CB from Florida
  • Height: 6’2″
  • Weight: 193 pounds

What You Need To Know

Kaiir Elam checks off a lot of boxes. He’s got great athleticism, fluid hips and plays with a level of physicality you love to see from an outside corner. Elam has shown to be versatile in coverage, thriving in both man and press coverage. This is a prospect who has done it well in coverage with his tremendous ball hawk ability, as evident from his 20 pass deflections in 25 career games. Elam has terrific size at 6’2 and makes it felt at the line of scrimmage or in run support.

Brandon Joseph

  • Safety from Northwestern
  • Height: 6’1″
  • Weight: 192 pounds

What You Need To Know

The Eagles lack of playmaking in the secondary has been well documented. Thus, here is a safety prospect with some of the best hands in the entire draft class. Think about this for one second. Per Pro Football Focus, Brandon Joseph nearly logged as many interceptions (6) as he did completions allowed (8) during the 2020 season (24 targets). There is still a lot to be learned about Brandon Joseph as he’s only played in 13 career games at Northwestern. Regardless, this is one of the best ball trackers in the class and a strong 2021 season could make him into one of the biggest names on draft night.

Andrew Booth Jr.

  • CB from Clemson
  • Height: 6’0″
  • Weight: 195 pounds

What You Need To Know

Andrew Booth possesses elite athleticism, both down field and short area burst. He’s a ball hawk who flies around the field (although sometimes to his detriment). Booth is currently in that tier just below Derek Stingley Jr. and Kaiir Elam, but a strong season could quickly leads to his name vaulting up the big boards. When he’s on the field, this is one of the best CB prospects in the draft. He’s fought multiple injuries during his time at Clemson and a fully healthy season could turn him into a household name.

Daxton Hill

  • Safety from Michigan
  • Height: 6’0″
  • Weight: 192 pounds

What You Need To Know

Daxton Hill is yet another elite athlete in the 2022 draft class. Here is a guy who ran a 4.3 40-yard dash, a 43-inch vertical and a 4.13 20-yard shuttle during his recruitment process out of High School. Daxton Hill is an explosive athlete who showcases his elite speed down field and at the attack point. Similar to Brandon Joseph, the sample size is a bit small as Hill has only started 9 games in his career. He’s a bit raw, but look for Daxton Hill’s name to climb up big boards during the draft process following another strong season.
