Frozen 2 Trailer Released

Full honesty, I didn’t like it as much as I did with the first trailer. Similar to the first flick, this new trailer seemed much more light, wondrous and magical. The previous trailer was much more dark and mysterious with a better film score. Did you see the stones in the trailer? Could that be a connection to Brave? I’ve talked so much about Frozen being part of a bigger Disney-verse.

Frozen 2 seems to be more of a sweeping adventure film than the first movie. I think it’s pretty much a lock that the villain in the film will be some sort of pyromancer. I also think it’s a lock that we’re gonna see fire vs ice in Frozen 2 which could lead to some truly incredible visuals. I like the trailer, I didn’t love it. We got our first look at Alfred Molina’s character who plays Anna and Elsa’s father. But let’s be real here, what do we all want from Frozen 2? The answer is more Josh Gad. More Josh Gad means everyone wins.

Jonah Hill Cast as Villain in The Batman

But who? My initial reaction went straight to The Penguin then a sad place when I remembered how great Phillip Seymour Hoffman would have been as The Penguin. But anyway, Jonah Hill cannot be Penguin. While I have no doubt that Jonah would make an epic Penguin, Penguin is way too one note and flat for such a talented actor. My top guesses for Jonah Hill would be the Riddler, Mad Hatter or Clayface.

Jeffrey Wright Cast as Commissioner Gordon

Jeffrey Wright was absolutely fantastic choice! I’m going to miss JK Simmons, which had tremendous potential in Justice League. But Wright as a hard boiled Gordon for a film noir that will feature Calendar Man is going to be great! My initial reaction to this casting was the same way I felt during Nolan’s Batman films when his picks were announced with Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman. As you can tell, I love how the cast is progressing. Director Matt Reeves is hitting home runs right now. One request? Go get me John Leguizamo as Harvey Bullock.

New Single from Jimmy Eat World

The new album from Jimmy Eat World “Surviving” releases October 18th (Happy birthday to me by the way!). Jimmy Eat World released their new single “All the Way” on Monday. If this single is any indication, their new album looks like it’s going to be a major hit.

Episode One Review of New Fox Series Prodigal Son

Show of the week so far, OK I’ve only watched two shows so far but wow what an epic first episode. As we discussed on the previous Suit Up, Prodigal Son seems like a perfect mix of Mindhunter and Fringe (remember that show?!). No, not the paranormal part, but the fun banter and tense relationship between father and son (Pacey and his Dad Walter Bishop) is heavily present. So far, this seems like one of those water cooler shows that will have fans guessing after each and every episode. Who is the copycat killer? My early money is on the Mother or Malcolm Bright himself. Perhaps we’ll find out that Malcolm is suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder where Malcolm has split personalities. Episode one grade: 9/10

Meghan Trainor Covers Friends Theme

Friends AND Meghan Trainor? What is there not to love?

Episode One Review of The Good Doctor

The Good Doctor is back! The majority of episode one includes Shawn retelling the story of what happened during his date. Figuring out how and when to tell a joke during the date was adorable. However, overall I thought it was a pretty boring episode. There really was nothing of significance here and some of the comedic elements in this episode didn’t hit. Lots of strong emotion here, but why is this show so gory? Episode one grade: 4/10

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie Trailer

First up, love the tone! It seems tense. We didn’t get any sign of Walter White, but this flick seems to start off right after the events of the Breaking Bad series finale. What happens to Jesse? Well we don’t know much but he’s very clearly on the run from the consequences of the deaths from the dealers from the finale. We see Jesse as an emotional wreck, which is pretty much exactly the Jesse we all fell in love with during the series. Loved the trailer!

Mahershala Ali nearly went to the DCEU

Ali would’ve been great, but nobody in their right mind can complain about getting Jeffrey Wright instead. Mahershala Ali is going to knock Blade out of the park no doubt. He’s a perfect casting for that character, but I think Wright was the correct choice for Gordon. Kevin Feige and Marvel, congratulations, you got your guy. But you don’t have to rub our (DC Comic fans) noses in it.

The Last of Us 2 Trailer, Release Date Revealed

OH. MY. GOD. The incredible visuals. The grim tone. The snow-filled atmosphere to the deserted city. I have no more words to describe this trailer. You just have to see it to believe it. While it won’t be open world, this is apparently their biggest game yet according to Naughty Dog. The Last of Us 2 releases on February 21st, 2020 and will be single player only.

Kevin Feige is Developing a Star Wars Movie

Could Kevin Feige be leaving Marvel to run Lucasfilm? In the biggest shocker story of the week, Marvel President Kevin Feige is now developing a new movie for Star Wars. With the Skywalker Saga (sadly) coming to a close, and Feige’s incredible for world building, this seems to be a perfect pairing. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to hit theaters December 20th but there are a ton of projects in the works. Following Skywalker, Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are creating their own Star Wars universe beginning in 2022. A darker, edgier spin-off of Knights of the Old Republic is rumored to be in development. Meanwhile, Rian Johnson (Director of The Last Jedi) is also creating his own trilogy.

Episode One Review of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Always Sunny is back! While the quality is dropped over the last few seasons, it’s still one of the best shows on TV. Season 14 began with Dennis and Mac creating their own Airbnb while Charlie and Frank do their best to well… get laid. As always, none of their plans work out in the most awkward fashion possible. It’s amazing how 14 seasons later, this show continues to walk the fine line between hilarious and downright disturbing. Overall, it was a pretty mediocre episode. Mac trying to turn his life into a RomCom and Dennis going through classic RomCom songs on his stereo were the highlights of the episode. Episode one review: 7/10.

Episode One Review of New TV Series Stumptown

Maria Hill err Colbie Smulders is back baby! Ok, formula wise I’ve seen this type of show many times. From the first episode you can tell that this cop-based drama will be heavily character-driven. Dex Parios, played by Colbie Smulders, deals with PTSD and a difficult love life throughout the duration of episode one. Stumptown doesn’t offer anything new, but the characters seem decent enough to make me want to come back for episode two. Episode one review: 7.5/10

Episode One Review of New TV Series Evil

Creepy atmosphere? Check. Demons? Check. Luke Cage? Check. Episode one of Evil hit all the right notes for me. Mile Colter, a journalist and Catholic priest, recruits Katja Herbers, a clinical psychologist, to investigate cases involving potential demonic possessions. It doesn’t take long to realize you’re watching a modern version of Mulder and Scully from FOX’s The X-Files. If you’re a fan of this genre, then this is a must watch. Count me as all in for episode two. Episode one review: 8.5/10.

Madame Web Film gets a Screenwriter

Collider is reporting that Madame Web is getting a standalone film. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who wrote the script for the upcoming Morbius film, will pen the upcoming film for Sony. Anyone who grew up watching the Spider-Man animated series from the 1990s should remember Madame Web. She’s a clairvoyant superhero and I expect Sony to utilize the Ultimate version of her character on the big screen.

Brie Larson Heading to Star Wars?

Start the speculation! Looks like Marvel President Kevin Feige might not be the only one heading to Lucasfilm. The timing of this tweet makes my mouth water. The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters in December.

Mr. Fantastic No Longer Smartest in Marvel Universe

Move aside Reed Richards. There is a new smartest character in the Marvel Universe and she goes by Moon Girl, who first appeared in 2015. Lunella is a 9-year-old, female Inhuman that travels around with a giant, red dinosaur referred to as Devil Dinosaur. She uses her advanced intelligence for building a wide array of gadgets and armor for battle. In addition, she shares a mental link with her companion Devil Dinosaur and can switch consciousness at will. You should definitely check out the Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur comic series!

Spider-Man Returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Happy Spider-Man Day! Spider-Man is officially returning to the MCU after Marvel and Sony have reached on an agreement. The next Spider-Man film will release on July 21st, 2021. What can we predict about Spider-Man 3? Will we see the Sinister Six? How about Kraven as the main villain? Will we finally see Normal Osborne introduced? We have so many questions. But for now, this is a truly special day for MCU and Disney fans everywhere.
