First reported by Mike Garafolo, the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with former Arizona Cardinal and Carolina Panther, Haason Reddick.

As stated in Garafolo’s tweet, Reddick is a Camden native and former Temple Owl. The Eagles have brought the 27-year-old pass-rusher home.

Reddick’s career got off to a slow start, however it really took off in his 4th season. In his first 3 seasons combined, Reddick recorded 3 forced fumbles and 7.5 sacks. Over his last 2 seasons combined, Reddick’s numbers have almost tripled.

It’s very refreshing to see the Eagles bring in a proven pass-rusher that is still getting better. Last season was the best of Reddick’s career so far. In the past, we’ve seen the Eagles bring in some great pass rushers, but when they were on a decline. Either that, or they were only in Philly for a year or two. Reddick will be with Philadelphia for at least the next 3 years assuming that no trades happen.

Teaming up Haason Reddick with Javon Hargrave and Josh Sweat is a recipe for success.

The Eagles now have three solid pass rushers that will continue to get better. Not to mention the insane defensive draft class that the Eagles will have 3 first-round picks available to use. The new-look Eagles defense could contain players like Haason Reddick, David Ojabo, Nakobe Dean, Travon Walker, and Marcus Williams. Having a defense this talented will take a lot of pressure off of Jalen Hurts’ shoulders next season assuming he’s the Eagles starting quarterback.

This is an absolutely fantastic signing for Howie Roseman and the Eagles. The Eagles will likely start to get more involved in free agency, signing at least one receiver and a safety. This could be the start to a very good offseason for the Eagles. If their odds to make the playoffs next season were already good, they could skyrocket over the next few weeks.

We will likely see a stronger push for an offensive player such as Allen Robinson, DJ Chark, or Juju Smith Schuster over the next week or so. The widespread belief amongst most NFL analysts is that one of the three will be a Philadelphia Eagle by the end of the week.
