2021 Offseason

It’s been an eventful past six month for Brooklyn’s veteran point guard. Dragic was included in Miami’s sign and trade deal for star guard Kyle Lowry in the offseason, Specifically, he, Precious Achiuwa and a trade exception were shipped to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Lowry. However, Dragic was displeased with his situation in Toronto. As a result, he stayed away from the team because of personal reasons and went on to play only five games. In those games, he averaged 8.0 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game, on 44.1 effective field-goal percentage.

2022 Trade Deadline

At last, Dragic was dealt to the San Antonio Spurs with a 2022 first round pick for Drew Eubanks, Thaddeus Young, and draft capital. Shortly after, Goran and San Antonio agreed to a buyout, which made him an unrestricted free agent. Following the buyout, Dragic’s name was attached to the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Brooklyn Nets. To boot, Nets head coach Steve Nash played a heavy role in recruiting the veteran guard. (via Marc Stein) Ultimately, Nash was successful in his recruiting as Dragic is now a Brooklyn Net. However, the Nets had to waive guard Jevon Carter in order to sign Goran for the remainder of this season. (via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN)
