Friday, April 1 marks the beginning of Autism Awareness Month. Sixers forward Georges Niang partook in the cause. Niang is one of the multiple Sixers stepping up in the community. On April 2, in honor of World Autism Day, the Sixers ran giveaways as part of a day focused on Autism Awareness. Georges Niang covered costs for children with Autism to attend an all-inclusive basketball camp.
The camp goes by the name of Bounce Out The Stigma, and you can find it at BounceOutTheStigma.org. They were voted Program of the Year by the Jr.NBA in 2019. The organization is dedicated to empowering those who are challenged every day by society. Its motto states, “Limits Will NOT Define You, Your WILL Defines Your Limits.”
Georges Niang, amongst others, has done a great job in bettering his community. Having relocated to Philadelphia just last August, it didn’t take Niang long to get involved in bettering life in the greater Philadelphia area. The fan favorite has proven his importance on and off the court.
