MCU overlord Kevin Feige has been tasked with developing a Star Wars film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
THR reports that Feige will work with LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy in developing a future film set in the Star Wars universe.

Feige, of course, is the lead producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has overseen some of the highest grossing movies of all time, including Avengers: Endgame which was able to unseat Avatar as the box office champion.
We don’t know where the film would place in the Star Wars universe, but it’s safe to say it won’t include the Skywalkers. As we know, December’s The Rise Of Skywalker will be the close to the storied tale of the family of force users. Disney’s plans don’t end there, as there are multiple spin-offs in the works, including a trilogy from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and another set of films from Game Of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
And Feige’s reportedly already thinking of a cast
The report also notes that Feige apparently has a “major actor” in mind for a role. Could that lead actor be Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson?
Larson has on multiple occasions expressed her love for Star Wars. And tweeted this not long after the news broke.

Could Feige look to his MCU collaborator for a role?
It’s not hard to see Larson being a Jedi. After all, she pulled off an intergalactic superhero before, why not do it again but this time with a lightsaber?
"I got to hold his [@SamuelLJackson's] lightsaber! He brought it to me on set on May the 4th, and I cried. It was so cool. I wanna be a Jedi.’-@brielarson via @EW’s #CaptainMarvel cover story.

The Force is definitely with you, Captain. ?
How about as a live action version of Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice in The Clone Wars animated series and a major character in Star Wars: Rebels. Ahsoka grew from Anakin’s padawan into a Jedi who left the order after she was framed for a crime she didn’t commit. She then led a group of Rebels against her former master Darth Vader. Larson could do great justice to a character die-hard fans have longed to see adapted from animation into live action.

Or, how about casting her as a Star Wars villain? Star Wars has had its share of strong female heroes (Leia Organa, Rey, Jyn Erso) but has not had nearly as many memorable female villains. The only that immediately comes to mind in the films is Captain Phasma, but Gwendoline Christie’s character just did not have the impact many had hoped and wasted her talents behind a helmet.
John Wick but in space
Or could the actor be Keanu Reeves? Feige has said in the past that he wants Reeves in the MCU. Maybe if that relationship is formed, he can convince the John Wick actor to take up a blaster or a lightsaber. Reeves can easily pull off either a Sith assassin or a grizzled resistance fighter or a Jedi knight. He has a range that can easily see him being on the light side or dark side, or maybe even both.
But, all we have is speculation as not much more has been announced. But clearly Disney is trying to expand Star Wars into a sprawling cinematic universe, and they brought in the mastermind of the most successful cinematic universe to date.
