Philadelphia plays the 3rd game of their Summer League campaign this evening against the Boston Celtics. Tip-off is at 5:00pm EST on NBA TV at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both teams are undefeated and have a great amount of young talent on their respective rosters.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are in 1st place of the Summer League standing with a 3-0 record. They are coming off the most dominant win in this year’s Summer League, beating the Orlando Magic 108-71 (37 point deficit). Shooter Sam Hauser was crucial in that game with 21 points and 6 threes. Boston is led by Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard, who both are averaging over 20ppg in a three-game sample size. Tonight will be the Celtics’ last “regular season” game and the club is looking to go undefeated.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are also undefeated at 2-0 and are in 6th place in the NBA Summer League. This past Thursday, Philly defeated the Atlanta Hawks in an overtime thriller 96-88. Tyrese Maxey dominated, contributing 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Isaiah Joe (21pts) and Paul Reed (20pts & 12reb) came up huge as well. Additionally, Tyrese Maxey is leading the Summer League in scoring with 26.0 points per game. The Sixers are looking to go 3-0 and join the race for 1st place. Furthermore if they beat the Celtics, there will be a five-way tie for the 1st seed (including Philadelphia).
